    ECSD New Student registration

    Time to Register

The Escambia County School District is encouraging parents who have children new to the school district to register their students now for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. For children in Pre-K through 12th grade, parents are encouraged to register their children on-line at:

    ECSD Online Registration

Also, beginning Wednesday, May 6, 2020 parents needing assistance with the new student registration process can go to their nearby school or the Office of School Choice, located at the J.E. Hall Center, 30 E. Texar Drive between the hours of 8 AM and 3 PM.

At the time of registration, parents need to provide proof of residence and evidence of the age of the child (birth certificate, report card, etc.). A current physical (within the past year) and immunization record will be needed prior to the start of the school year. Incoming kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st.

    Go Guardian Parent

    Welcome to GoGuardian Parent!

Congrats! Your school has just granted you access to GoGuardian Parent, a mobile app to help keep parents/guardians aware of your children's browsing activity, app usage, and more. GoGuardian Parent is a companion to the classroom management and internet filtering tools that your child's school uses for devices issued to students. Through the use of this app, we hope to encourage more open and honest conversations between parents and children that will result in safer practices and responsible browsing habits.

    What is GoGuardian Parent?

GoGuardian Parent was created to help provide additional educational support to administrators and teachers by allowing parents to see what sites and documents their children are browsing. The app gives parents a bird's eye view of the apps and websites that their kids are on most often. With this perspective, parents can be made aware of what types of browsing behavior schools are seeing from students so they can all work together to encourage more effective internet browsing habits at home and at school.

What's the intention of the app?

By providing insight into student browsing habits, our goal is to empower parents to take a more active role in their children's online learning. We aim to create a greater sense of transparency with student browsing to help bring about a greater sense of accountability on both the parent's and the student's part. We also believe that transparency and insight will increase the likelihood of productive student browsing habits on a more consistent basis.

What is included in this app:

    • Top 5 summary of student browsing (apps, extensions, documents, and websites visited)

    • Teacher interventions

    • 30-day view of websites, videos, documents, apps, and extensions

    • To access the app, please follow the below instructions:

What to Expect In the Event of a School Elevated Security Notification:

    Students
     Stay calm and alert.
 Follow the directions given to you by teachers and staff.
 Refrain from speculating on the event and broadcasting via cell phone or social media. Misinformation can aggravate the situation.
 In the event of an evacuation, remain calm and follow the directions of school staff and law enforcement.
 You will be reunited with your parents as soon as practical.

    Parents
 Teachers and staff have been trained to handle emergencies that affect your student’s school.
 There will be no student checkout during an event.
 DO NOT attempt to access your student at the school during an event.
 Information provided by staff and students in the school during any event is generally incomplete and sometimes inaccurate. Refrain as much as possible from reacting to any information not originating from local authorities.
 Remember, in most cases, school security is elevated as a precautionary measure because of an external threat or because of law enforcement activity in the vicinity of your student’s school not because of activity on campus.
 Normal school activities will be impacted by security-related events.
 Status updates will be provided by the District.

    Community
 Be alert and report suspicious activity to local law enforcement.
 Consider your ability to assist with recovery efforts if community support is requested.

Parents should plan on providing their child with money for their meals until eligibility is established to avoid creating a deficit in their account. Funds cam be added to student accounts online.
